Jet's Pedigree

Meet Jet, the youngest Shoofly dog!

September 2003:  Jet runs in the National Nursery Finals in Sturgis, SD!  Jet ran like a million bucks on tough range ewes, moving them like they were the easiest things in the world.  Unfortunately she got a little carried away at the pen and grabbed one on the nose, resulting in a DQ.  I was thrilled with my little Jettie, she showed a lot of class and totally belonged on that field!

Jet's moved right on through the ranks of classes and is running in Open Ranch as of October 2003, and is already winning and placing regularly.  I hope to get her confident in her shedding and get a little more trial polish on her this winter so she can make her Open debut in the spring, where I expect her to do very well.  She's a natural and talented dog and I've enjoyed training her tremendously.

February 2001:  Ben is visited by Debbie McCluske's little red bitch Scooter for a little puppy-making!  This will be Ben's first litter and Scooter's second.

April 2001:  Jet and 3 brothers and 1 sister are born April 7th.  She is the only black and white girl and was delivered up just as ordered and was the first pup to pop out!  She has a red tri sister, a black tri brother, and 2 black and white brothers.
May 18, 2001:  Jet tries her hand at herding ducks.  A day shy of 6 weeks old and doing her best to get those little legs to take her around the ducks!

and here for pictures of her at 9 weeks old.

August 11, 2001:  Jet tries her hand (paw?) at real livestock for the first time - a small group of young goats.  At first it seems like another playtime, tail up and friendly, then BOOM!  The herding light turns on and Jet's off to work!  Tail goes down, head goes down and Jet's around the goats and working, very serious.  The goats take off and she just sweeps out and around them, balances them around a bit, very workmanlike and natural.  How exciting!  I couldn't be more happy of proud of her.  What a fantastic start!

End of Aug/Beg of Sept 2001:  I try Jet on sheep for the first 2-3 times and she's incredibly natural and sensible.  She just goes out around the group and brings them, nice and easy, no chasing or splitting at all, very relaxed and confident.  I have great hopes for Jet as she seems to be a very special pup!  Here are some pictures of her working at 5 months old.

Do we really have to quit?
